Raphinha Matches Messi’s La Liga Feat After Scoring His 50th League Goal

Barcelona forward Raphinha has matched one of Lionel Messi’s remarkable La Liga achievements after scoring in the Catalan giants’ 5-0 win over Valencia.

Raphinha has now scored six goals in his first four La Liga matches of the season, joining Messi as the only players in the 21st century to reach that tally at this stage of the campaign.

Messi achieved the feat twice, doing so in consecutive seasons in 2012-13 and 2013-14. Raphinha has now added his name to that exclusive list.

Although Messi left Barcelona and La Liga in 2021, the Argentine legend remains a constant presence in football discussions because of the extraordinary records and achievements he left behind at the club.

Raphinha was one of the stars of Barcelona’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Valencia. The Brazilian forward scored after receiving a pass from Fermin Lopez, taking his La Liga tally for the season to six goals. The strike was also his 50th goal in the Spanish top flight.

Fermin Lopez and Pedri also scored once each, while Lamine Yamal struck twice as Barcelona cruised to a convincing victory over Valencia.

The result extended Barcelona’s perfect start to the league season. With four wins from four matches and 12 points, the defending champions remain at the top of the La Liga table.
