Ballon d'Or in His Hands, Business on His Mind: Harry Kane's Two Worlds
Ballon d'Or in His Hands, Business on His Mind: Harry Kane's Two Worlds
Harry Kane is no longer just one of football's most prolific strikers. The England captain is now a Ballon d'Or winner—and increasingly, an entrepreneur with a growing portfolio of investments outside the game.
Kane won the 2026 Ballon d'Or, becoming the first English player to claim the prestigious award since Michael Owen in 2001. The 33-year-old Bayern Munich striker finished ahead of Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal and Lionel Messi. He also won the Gerd Müller Trophy for the best men's striker.
Kane scored 73 goals in 65 appearances for Bayern Munich and England during the 2025/26 season. His campaign included the Bundesliga title, DFB-Pokal and DFL Supercup with Bayern.
But Kane's ambitions extend far beyond football. While his goals have made him one of the world's biggest sporting stars, his investments show that he has also been thinking carefully about life beyond the pitch.
Building a Business at 21
Kane started putting the foundations of his business structure in place surprisingly early.
HK28 Limited was incorporated in October 2014, when Kane was only 21. UK Companies House records list Kane as a director of the company. His wider business structure has since expanded into several areas.
HK28, also associated with The Harry Kane Company, sits at the centre of his wider commercial interests, covering areas connected to football, business, entertainment and charitable activity.

His brother Charlie Kane has also played an important role in managing his business interests and representation.
A Major Investment in Property
Property is one of the key areas of Kane's investment strategy.
Kane is a director of Edward James Investments, a company connected to his family.
Recent business reporting has put the company's assets at around £15 million. That figure refers to the company's assets, however, rather than Kane's personal net worth.
The strategy reflects a broader approach: using football income to build long-term assets rather than relying entirely on earnings from his playing career.
Investing in Seat Unique
Kane has also moved into the premium live-event market through an investment in Seat Unique, a platform specialising in premium tickets and hospitality packages for sports and entertainment events.
He became an investor in the company in 2025. Seat Unique subsequently raised significant new funding, including a £20 million round reported in 2026.
Kane's exact stake and the current value of his investment have not been publicly disclosed.
The Skechers Deal
One of Kane's most eye-catching commercial decisions came in 2023, when he partnered with Skechers.
Instead of staying with one of the traditional football boot giants, Kane chose Skechers as he moved to Bayern Munich. The company announced a long-term global partnership with the striker as it launched its football boot business.
The deal was structured with a long-term commercial interest rather than simply functioning as a conventional endorsement arrangement, according to business reporting.
After Kane's historic 2025/26 season, Skechers launched a special “Mark of Greatness” campaign celebrating his 73 goals and Ballon d'Or victory.
From Sports Technology to Food
Kane's investment portfolio extends well beyond football.
He has backed STATSports, a sports-technology company that develops GPS-based player-tracking systems used to monitor athletic performance.
His portfolio also includes investments linked to Bio&Me, Reflo, 3Bears and TOCA Football. These businesses cover gut-health food, sustainable sportswear, nutrition and football-related entertainment and training.
That makes Kane's investment portfolio unusually diverse for a footballer, covering property, sports technology, nutrition, fashion, ticketing and entertainment.

Football Still Provides the Foundation
Kane's football earnings remain the foundation of his financial strength.
Reports in 2026 have put his Bayern Munich salary at around £400,000 per week, although the club does not publicly disclose individual player salaries, so the figure should be treated as a reported estimate rather than an officially confirmed amount.
His commercial partnerships provide another major source of income, with Skechers among the most prominent.
As Kane's football profile has grown, so too has his ability to turn that profile into long-term commercial opportunities.
Family at the Heart of the Strategy
One distinctive feature of Kane's business structure is the involvement of his family.
His brother Charlie Kane has been closely involved in his representation and business activities, while UK corporate records show family involvement across companies connected to Kane.
Rather than leaving every commercial decision to external agencies, Kane has built a structure around his own team and family.
It is almost like football itself: build the right team, maintain control and think several moves ahead.
From Trophyless Tottenham Star to Ballon d'Or Winner
Kane's career transformation is perhaps the most remarkable part of the story.
At Tottenham Hotspur, he became one of the Premier League's greatest goalscorers and won multiple Golden Boots. Yet major team trophies remained elusive.
The move to Bayern Munich changed that narrative.
In 2025/26, Kane scored 73 goals, won major domestic honours with Bayern and ultimately lifted the Ballon d'Or—the biggest individual prize in football.
Away from the pitch, he has simultaneously built interests in property, sports technology, food, sustainable clothing, premium ticketing and football entertainment.
On the field, Kane's job is simple: score goals.
Off the field, his strategy is much longer-term—to make sure that when his football career eventually ends, the Harry Kane success story continues through the businesses and investments he has built along the way.
