Justin Seven-Seven Scores in the 77th Minute in a Remarkable Football Coincidence
Football is full of memorable goals, but sometimes a remarkable coincidence can steal the spotlight. That was the case when Justin Seven-Seven, a young striker for West Bromwich Albion's Under-21 side, scored in the 77th minute against Sutton United in the National League Cup.
The match took place on October 13, when Seven-Seven came off the bench in the 75th minute. Just two minutes later, he found the net in the 77th minute—a striking match between his unusual name and the timing of his goal.
Despite the memorable moment, West Brom were unable to avoid defeat, losing 3-2 to Sutton United.
A Name and a Goal Time That Match
Seven-Seven's goal quickly became a talking point because of the extraordinary coincidence. It is unusual for a player's name to align so neatly with the minute in which he scores, making the moment especially memorable for football fans.
West Brom had taken an early lead through Rio Parmar in the ninth minute. Sutton responded through Sam Folarin in the 14th minute before Bobby Amartey put the hosts ahead in the 19th minute.
Substitute Omar Mussa extended Sutton's advantage to 3-1 in the 66th minute. Seven-Seven then pulled one back for West Brom in the 77th minute, giving the visitors renewed hope late in the game.
However, Sutton held on to secure a 3-2 victory.
From West Brom's Academy to International Youth Football
Born in Smethwick, England, Seven-Seven joined West Brom's academy at the age of nine. In July 2025, he signed a two-year scholarship agreement with the club.
Although born in England, the young forward has represented Germany at youth international level. Reports indicate that he made his debut for Germany's Under-17 team in 2026.
His goal was not enough to change the result against Sutton United, but the remarkable coincidence between his name and the 77th minute has given football fans an unusual moment to remember.
