‘You’ve told me 100 times’—the star couple reveals a funny marriage proposal story

Who proposed marriage first—Vijay Deverakonda or Rashmika Mandanna? The popular South Indian star couple has finally opened up about the story, revealing a playful exchange about who brought up marriage first.

The couple appeared together in a promotional video for the ninth season of Karan Johar’s popular talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’. During the conversation, Karan asked them whether either of them had formally proposed marriage to the other.

Rashmika suggested that there was no traditional proposal between them. Vijay then revealed that Rashmika had simply told him, “Let’s get married.”

Vijay’s response, however, turned the moment into a joke.

“Okay, you’ve told me this 100 times,” he said.

Karan then asked Rashmika whether she had really brought up marriage that many times. She replied, “I’ve been telling him to marry me for a whole year.”

Vijay jokingly responded, “I’m not that bad of a person.”

The playful exchange has since attracted attention among fans, particularly because it offers a glimpse into the couple’s relationship after their marriage.

From On-Screen Romance to Real-Life Marriage

Rumours about Vijay and Rashmika’s relationship began gaining attention after they appeared together in the 2018 Telugu film ‘Geetha Govindam’. Their on-screen chemistry quickly became popular with audiences.

They reunited the following year in ‘Dear Comrade’, further fuelling speculation about their relationship.

Although the two stars did not openly discuss their relationship for a long time, their public appearances, social media posts and occasional comments continued to attract attention from fans. Their names were even combined into the nickname ‘Virosh’.

The couple eventually made their relationship public in February 2026 and announced their marriage.

Vijay and Rashmika got married on February 26 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The wedding included a Telugu ceremony in the morning, followed by a Kodava ceremony reflecting Rashmika’s family traditions. Close family members and friends attended the celebrations.

First ‘Koffee With Karan’ Appearance Together After Marriage

Vijay and Rashmika are appearing together on ‘Koffee With Karan’ for the first time after their marriage.

For Rashmika, this marks her first appearance on the show. Vijay previously appeared during the seventh season alongside his ‘Liger’ co-star Ananya Panday.

The promotional video for the ninth season features more than just their marriage story. The couple can also be seen sharing playful moments during the rapid-fire segment.

The couple has also returned to the big screen together following their marriage. Their latest film ‘Ranavali’ was released on October 16.

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the historical action film is set in 19th-century South India. Vijay plays the titular character, while Rashmika portrays his wife.
